Key Information
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILE
Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary field of engineering and engineering management that focuses on how to model entities or objects and thereby design and manage complex systems.
This programme places a strong emphasis not only on the technical content of our modules but also on cross-disciplinary skills vital for an engineer to be effective in the workplace and within the field of Systems Engineering
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
This programme covers the core of systems engineering, consisting of foundational topics with a focus on engineering design and development.
We provide training for future system architects and project leaders in the field of specification, design, deployment, and maintenance of complex systems.
You will learn advanced computational, experimental and analytical techniques applicable to Systems Engineering providing an advanced base of knowledge and skills. Including advanced computational and experimental techniques applicable to modelling and simulation of Systems Engineering, whilst also including design procedures used by Systems Engineering research and implementing materials into research/design projects.
You will be able to understand new models, techniques, and technologies, and appreciate the necessity of such continuing professional development.
You will gain advanced knowledge on significant and rapidly emerging needs and trends in practicing systems engineering in areas of model-based systems engineering, digital engineering and artificial intelligence, and research capability.
Further information about teaching, facilities and assessment is available from the Queen Mary website.
CAREER PROGRESSION
At the end of this degree you will be equipped to take up roles to address the main challenges of systems, such as safety, efficiency, delay, cost, ethics and environmental impact.
Careers in areas, including aerospace, software, biomedical and transport engineering, will include development engineer, engineering consultant and project leader.
What qualifications will I receive?
At the end of this degree apprenticeship, you will be awarded the MSc in Systems Engineering.
Entry requirements
See the Queen Mary website for full entry requirements.
Fees and funding
